Churchwide Missions Opportunities
Momen’s Missionary Union (W.M.U.)
Our heartbeat is to share Jesus to our neighbors and the nations, and we seek to be involved in obeying the Great Commission in Tidewater, across our nation, and around the world.
Elizabeth River Baptist Church supports missions through giving generously to the Cooperative Programs of the Baptist General Association of VA and the Southern Baptist Convention. We also strongly support local missions by giving generously to “The Bridge Network of Churches”. Ten percent of the tithes and offerings given to our church go directly to missions.
We also support missions through Special Missions Offerings every year. These are Global Hunger Relief, The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions and The Annie Armstrong Offering for North American Missions.
The “On Missions” group at Elizabeth River Baptist Church provides a relational and dynamic way for member to grown in Christ and answer His call to make disciples. Through Bible study, prayer devotionals, mission projects and outreach each meeting offers opportunities and resources to be involved with missions in our everyday lives.
We meet the first Thursday of every month. A light snack dinner is provided for our members at 5:45 with the meeting at 6:30 pm. Our members take turns providing dinner.

The Week of Prayer for North American missions is annually observed by SBC churches to pray for missionaries, their ministries and their families. Prayer is the fuel for spiritually sustaining missionaries in places where the gospel is greatly needed, but often opposed.
The official date is the first Sunday in March through the second Sunday. This year it is March 5-12, 2023. The offering goal for this year is $70 million.
E.R.B.C. Offering Goal is $2,500.00
Offering Received to date: $1, 300.00
What is the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering?
The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (AAEO) is the primary way Southern Baptists fund missions in North America. One hundred percent of gifts given to AAEO go to the field to support more than 2,400 missionary families serving across the United States and Canada. 100% of your Annie Armstrong Easter Offering gifts support thousands of missionaries in church planting and compassion ministry.
How do your gifts make a difference? Gifts to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering are used to train and resource missionaries in church planting and compassion ministries. Gifts are also used to create evangelism resources. New churches are being planted, hurts are being healed and lives are being transformed by the gospel because you give.
How AAEO Funds are Spent
3% Sending and Leadership-mobilization events, leadership resources and events, funding for short- term student missionaries.
1% Missions Education-resources and training focused on mission field education for recruitment and mobilization for church planting missionaries.
