Our heartbeat is to share Jesus to our neighbors and the nations, and we seek to be involved in obeying the Great Commission in Tidewater, across our nation, and around the world.
Elizabeth River Baptist Church supports missions through giving generously to the Cooperative Programs of the Baptist General Association of VA and the Southern Baptist Convention. We also strongly support local missions by giving generously to “The Bridge Network of Churches”. Ten percent of the tithes and offerings given to our church go directly to missions.
We also support missions through Special Missions Offerings every year. These are Global Hunger Relief, The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions and The Annie Armstrong Offering for North American Missions.
The “On Missions” group at Elizabeth River Baptist Church provides a relational and dynamic way for member to grown in Christ and answer His call to make disciples. Through Bible study, prayer devotionals, mission projects and outreach each meeting offers opportunities and resources to be involved with missions in our everyday lives.
We meet the first Thursday of every month. A light snack dinner is provided for our members at 5:45 with the meeting at 6:30 pm. Our members take turns providing dinner.
Global Hunger Sunday is October 10, a day where churches unite to fight global hunger. Our church will collect a special offering to bring hope to the nations’ hungry. Learn more at GlobalHungerRelief.org
Sounds to early, but Thanksgiving needs to be on our planning calendars. When you see a “turkey sale”, buy one or two or more for those in need to have a better Thanksgiving. We have freezer room at the church for them. Your donated turkeys will go to Union Mission for distribution to needy families and for serving meals to the homeless housed at Union Mission.
Collection dates will be November 7th, 14th and the 21st .
We will be delivering the turkeys on Monday, November 22.
